France's Kevin Staut continued his winning run at the highest level, guiding Exquis RB to victory in the prestigious 1.50m Longines Ranking class at the CSIO5* in St. Gallen. The French rider produced two flawless rounds and set an unbeatable pace in the second round to secure another major international success.
Staut and Exquis RB (Siwing de Triaval) were untouchable in the jump-off phase of this two-round competition. After producing two flawless performances, the French combination stopped the clock in 40.36 seconds to take top honours.
Canada's Erynn Ballard put in a strong challenge with Fave d'Authuit (Cornet Obolensky), finishing clear in 42.03 seconds to secure second place. Just behind her, Britain's Ben Maher guided Maddox VH Haringvliet Z (Monte Bellini) to third with another double-clear effort in 42.11 seconds.
Belgium's Niels Bruynseels came agonisingly close to a podium finish. Partnering Credibilis van het Lindenhof Z (Crown Z), he delivered two faultless rounds and crossed the finish line in 43.66 seconds, good for fourth place.
Rounding out the top five was American rider Paris Sellon aboard Chad Blue PS (Chacco-Blue). The pair also kept a clean sheet throughout both rounds and finished in 44.57 seconds.
