Kyle King’s SIG Chiari moves to Canadian rider Amara Gottwald!

American showjumper Kyle King has sold his experienced competition horse SIG Chiari (Cristallo II x Landadel) to Canadian rider Amara Gottwald. The thirteen-year-old gelding has enjoyed a successful career at the five-star level in recent years and will now continue his international journey under the Canadian flag.
In his early years, the gelding was trained by Jana Wargers (Germany) and Michael Cristofoletti (Italy) before joining King’s stable at the age of nine.
Under King, SIG Chiari developed into a consistent performer at the 1.50m five-star level, achieving numerous strong results. The pair placed multiple times in the top ten last summer at Spruce Meadows and Thunderbird Show Park, where they also made their final international appearance together during the prestigious Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’.
On social media, King expressed mixed emotions about the sale: “It’s a farewell with bittersweet feelings, but also with great pride. Congratulations to Amara on the purchase of SIG Chiari,” he wrote. “We’re so happy that he’s found a new rider who suits him perfectly. Thank you, Chi, for all those incredible years — you were the best!”
