All weekend, Kronenberg has been dominated by tomorrow's talents: the European Youth Championships. The last individual final on the programme today was the one for Young Riders. Especially in the first round, the course, built by Belgian course builder Bart Vonck, caused a lot of problems.
Briton Olivier Fletcher can call himself the new European champion. Over the whole week, he was the only one to leave all obstacles in the scraps with his Zangersheide gelding Hello William (by Waldo Van Dungen). This performance earned him the over-earned gold medal. Irish rider Francis Derwin jumped to silver with Flexi K (by Flex A Bill). A jumping fault on the first day saw them finish on a total of 4.61 penalty points. Jules Orsolini was one of the riders who still had zero on the counter before the start of the final. Unfortunately, his Charlotte 198 (by Casall) tapped one bar out of the scoops in the very last round, making peace with second place.
Anastasia Nielsen and Beau van de Hagenhorst Z (by Big Star Jr KZ) came fourth.
