It was recently announced that Hello Valentino and Dubai du Cedre are heading to Saudi Arabia. It is now confirmed who will take over the reins: Abdullah Al-Sharbatly will be the new rider of the former stars of Scott Brash and Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann.
Saudi showjumper Abdullah Al-Sharbatly is regarded as one of the most successful and influential riders from the Middle East. His major breakthrough came in 2010, when he won individual silver at the World Equestrian Games in Lexington (USA). That historic performance made him the first Middle Eastern rider ever to win a medal at a World Jumping Championship.
Two years later, at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, he was part of the Saudi Arabian team that captured team bronze, marking yet another milestone for Saudi equestrian sport.
Now, Al-Sharbatly welcomes two Grand Prix stars into his stables. Together with Scott Brash, Hello Valentino competed up to CSI5* Grand Prix level. Earlier this year, the pair won a 1.55m Global Champions League round in London, and they finished second in the 1.60m CSI4* Grand Prix of Chantilly. Under Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann, Dubai du Cedre won the Global Champions League of Doha and delivered clear rounds in the Nations Cup of Rome.
