Top sport in March: Rolex Grand Prix in Wellington, the Longines Global Champions Tour of Miami Beach returned, the FEI World Cup Finals were held in Leipzig, the month ending with the GCL of Mexico. There were also 4* and 5* shows in, amongst others, St Tropez (week 1, week 2), Fontainebleau, and Hagen.

Unfortunately, news also reached us this month that Jumping Lummen, in Belgium, was officially cancelled. The event had only just reclaimed its place on the international calendar, but had to close the books again due to the limited number of registrations.

In the beginning of April, the retirement of the stallion Glasgow van 't Merelsnest was announced at the VDL Stud Stallion Show in the Netherlands. Patrick Stühlmeyer was elected "Rider of the Year" in the BEMER Riders Tour. In Fontainebleau, Pénélope Leprévost was crowned the "French Showjumping champion".

Further this month, the Belgian equestrian sector had joined forces to provide financial support to the best breeders in Belgium. The most impactful event took place when the FEI finally recognised the International Grooms Association (IGA). They did this by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the FEI Sports Forum. Also the worldwide support for Ukraine continued to grow. At CSI Hagen, a Charity Auction was held to raise money for the victims of the war.
