After winning the previous 1.50m class, Julien Epaillard just took it one step further during the 1.60m qualifying class for the World Cup Leg of Lyon. Epaillard crushed all opponents in the saddle of Caracole de la Roque (Zandor Z) and again won gold, together with a bonus of 25,000 euros.
A total of eleven participants managed to qualify for the jump-off in this very tough class. Make no mistakes, and keep the time as short as possible ... Epaillard did it like no other in the saddle of Caracole de la Roque, and gave the home crowd a phenomenal round with an unbeatable 33.20 seconds on the chrono. Almost three seconds after the winning pair, Jana Wargers crossed the finish line on Limbridge (Guardus Limbus) which resulted in a silver medal and 20,000 euros. Roger Yves Bost also stopped the clock under 37 seconds, and received the bronze and a check for 15,000 euros with Ballerine du Vilpion (Baloubet du Rouet).
With 10 hundredths difference, the Dane Andreas Schou fell just outside the podium in the saddle of Independent (Diamant de Revel). He was followed by the Argentine duo José María Larocca and Finn Lente (Gaillard de la Pomme) in fifth.
