Hubside Jumping Valencia cancelled due to water restrictions

"The current weather conditions and water restrictions in Drôme do not allow for the organization of the 2023 edition of the Hubside Jumping in Valence, originally scheduled from August 17th to 20th and 24th to 27th, in conditions that ensure sufficient safety and animal well-being," announced the organizing committee of the Hubside Jumping. They are currently considering the exceptional possibility of relocating this edition to the Grimaud-Golfe de Saint-Tropez site.

A big CSI5* event, inviting over four hundred horses, was set to be held by the Hubside Jumping organisation on the ground of Valencia. Such an organization and the associated animal care require optimal facilities and sporting equipment, as well as a particularly demanding service, including a significant water supply for horse hydration and track maintenance.

"In the current climate context and considering the water usage restrictions, the organizing committee has sought effective solutions to meet these requirements and maintain the level of quality in its hospitality and horse care. However, no satisfactory solution has emerged. The committee has determined that the necessary conditions for holding this sports competition are not met and has decided to cancel the scheduled dates in Ratières in August, out of respect for safety provisions and animal welfare," the press release announces.

The organizing committee is currently exploring the possibility of relocating the 2023 edition of the Hubside Jumping from Haras des Grillons in Drôme to Ecurie du Golfe de Saint-Tropez in Grimaud, Var. "An exceptional measure in its eight years of existence," emphasized the press release published this morning. The circuit will resume in September with the Fall Tour of the Hubside Jumping in Grimaud, from September 14th to 17th and 21st to 24th, featuring CSI 3*, 2*, and 1* events. "The entire Hubside Jumping team hopes to welcome athletes and the general public back to Ratières in 2024 under more favorable conditions," concluded the statement.
