In Basel, Switzerland, the Grand Prix for the World Cup Dressage was on the program this afternoon. Here the Germans did what the Germans do best by dominating the standings. Together with the 16-year-old mare Tsf Dalera BB (Easy Game), Jessica von Bredow-Werndl amazed both audience and judges, scoring a whopping 83.456%.
No judges scored von Bredow-Werndl and Tsf Dalera BB below 82%, deciding the win unanimously. Fellow compatriot Isabell Werth was the last to enter the arena in the saddle of the 13-year-old stallion Dsp Quantaz (Quaterback). Werth put down a great test, but could ultimately not match the winning result. Again, the judges were unanimous and placed the duo second with a total of 78.261%. This relegated Dutch rider Dinja van Liere to bronze on the back of the 11-year-old chestnut gelding Hartsuijker (Johnson). Van Liere rode to a total of 75.609%.
The other two top five laureates also managed to register more than 75% on the scoreboard. Denmark's Nanna Skodborg Merrald followed on the fifteen-year-old Oldenburg gelding Blue Hors Zepter (Blue Hors Zack) in fourth place with 75.152%, Benjamin Werndl finished with 75.056% and a fifth place in the saddle of the nineteen-year-old Westphalia gelding Daily Mirror 9 (Damon Hill).
