Julien Anquetin jumps to gold in 1.50m class of Verona

Frenchman Julien Anquetin just won a brilliant gold medal in the 1.50m class in Verona, Italy. On the back of the Selle Français gelding Cesus de Fougnard (Tlaloc M) he stopped the clock just under two seconds faster than Belgian Wilm Vermeir.

Anquetin only needed 62.48 seconds to clear the 1.50m high 5* course with Cesus de Fougnard and was awarded the gold medal. For Vermeir and Joyride S (Toulon) the chrono stopped in a second fastest time of 64.14 seconds. The Dutchman Harrie Smolders needed the full 17 hundredths longer on Une de l'Othain (Conterno Gronde), which earned them the bronze.

The top five was completed by two riders who also managed to stop the clock under 65 seconds. Simon Delestre took fourth place with the KWPN gelding Iniesta V (Zambesi TN), ahead of Nicola Philippaerts in the saddle of Khan vd Kattevennen Z (Kannan).
