Marcus Ehning's A La Carte NRW retires from the sport

With A LA CARTE NRW (v. Abke), a highly successful top athlete is leaving the international sporting stage. "A horse that has always performed so consistently has to leave at its peak," said Marcus Ehning. The decision was not easy, but it was jointly decided to say goodbye to the 15-year-old stallion with current successes at the home tournament in Borken.

A LA CARTE NRW started his career as an outstanding winner of the NRW Main Licensing. Under Kendra Claricia Brinkop, he was third in 2016 and fourth in 2017 at the German Championships as well as victorious at the U25 Jumping Cup Final at the CHIO Aachen. Sporting highlights under Marcus Ehning include winning the Mighty Jumping in Madrid (2019), second place in the Grand Prix of Amsterdam (2020), victory in Knokke/Belgium and fourth place in the EFI Nations Cup Jumping with the German team in Rotterdam (2021), second place in the Nations Cup in Hickstead and the bronze medal at the German Championships in Balve (2022).

In total, the stallion jumped to 214,914 euros of prize money. In addition, he also stayed clear in about 50% of the classes where he started. (Information - Jumpr app).

A LA CARTE NRW also sets standards as a sire. His daughters have been represented at elite shows for many years, five sons have been licensed and his offspring are successful in the higher levels of show jumping competitions.
