Next in the field was Julien Epaillard, defending the honors of the guest country on Donatello d'Auge (Jarnac). The French pair knocked down two rails, finishing with a time of 36,44s. Eduardo Alvarez Aznar (ESP) came in third with Rokfeller de Pleville Bois Margot. The 19 years old gelding by L'arc de Triomphe stayed clear of the poles, stopping the clock on 38,20s.
