Michael Pender is his own biggest rival in CSI5*-W 1.50m Longines Grand Prix Qualifier in Sharjah

Michael Pender has not only taken first spot in the CSI5*-W 1.50m Longines Grand Prix Qualifier but also placed himself second in this exciting class.

The Irishman firstly came on the scene with HHS Calais in the middle of the starting order. With the 13yo son of Cavalier Royale, Pender put himself on top of the results with a lightning fast time of 68,25s. When he entered the arena a second time, this time aboard of Chacco Bay (Chaccato) and as last to go, only he was able to get close to this fast time. But not quite fast enough as he finished second on Chacco Bay (Chaccato) with 69,79s on the clock. Alisa Danilova (UKR) her time with Cossinelle (Cascadello), being 70,79s made her finish third.

Donald Whitaker (GBR) stayed clear of the poles in combination with Millfield Colette (Cornet Obolensky) and came in fourth followed by Germany's Sophie Hinners and Helwell du Chabus (Elvis ter Putte).
