Bertram Allen and Pacino Amiro shine bright in Gijón

On Thursday Ireland's Bertram Allan was unbeatable in the 1.50m main Longines Ranking class. In the two Phase class, Allen jumped to glory aboard his trusted 11-year-old gelding, Pacino Amiro.

Allen and his son by Pacino were just a bit faster as Great-Britain's Jack Whitaker aboard Valmy de La Lande (Mylord Carthago*HN). The complete stage finished in under half a second difference, with Giulia Martinengo Marquet (ITA) placing third aboard Scuderia 1918 Quick And Easy 3 (Quick Orion D'Elle).

The pair was followed by Mariano Martinez Bastida (ESP) and his 10-year-old Zangersheide-stallion, Quark de Preuilly Z (Quaprice Boimargot).

The top five was completed by Emeric George and Dune du Ru (Vagabond de la Pomme).
