The CSIO5* main class was set 1.50m heigh in Brussels. Today it was Great-Britain's Sienna Charles speeding to victory in the main class aboard her 14-year-old Valkiry de Zance.
Together with the 14-year-old son by Diamant de Semilly, Charles jumped to victory with almost two seconds difference on USA's Laura Kraut and her 16-year-old trusted Confu (Contact Me). France's Jeanne Sadran completed the stage.
Aboard Dexter de Kerglenn (Mylord Carthago), Sadran was followed by Brazil's Marlon Modolo Zanotelli and the BWP-approved sire, Grand Slam VDL (Cardento). In fifth Evelina Tovek and Moeboetoe v/d Roshoeve (Der Senaat 111) followed after a clear round.
“During the course walk, I thought the course looked quite challenging. In the first half, I tried to keep it as tight as I could, taking as few strides as possible. In the second half, I rode more cautiously, adding an extra stride. After finishing without faults, I kept checking the starting list to see who was left to compete. And they were all outstanding riders! I'm so grateful for this opportunity. Earlier, I found myself walking the course alongside my idols, the riders I've admired since childhood. Competing against them is just surreal. After winning tonight, warming up with them might feel slightly less intimidating (laughs).”
