INTERVIEW: Gregory Wathelet; I hope to keep Conrad until the Olympics

Last year Belgium's Gregory Wathelet counted on the 10-years-old Con Air-son, Conrad de Hus, at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Caen, France. The pair finished 25th. Last weekend they took home the Vice-European Championships title. For over two years, Belgium's number one has been riding the 10-year-old Black horse. After the European Championships, Wathelet however revealed that Conrad is indeed for sale. But for the rider, there's no hurry. Owner Xavier Marie is yet to be convinced to move his financial plans with the horse aside. While Marie was asking a huge amount of money for the stallion, the price is - after Aachen - justified. "I hope to be able to ride Conrad at the Olympic Games in Rio, 2016. If he left my stables by then it will be a shame. But I am convinced I'll hace some succesors ready by then."
