Nicola Philippaerts and Klaartje Z charm homecrowd on openingday Equestrian Cup Moerzeke

In the first class of the day, the youngster cup for 7-year-old horses, Ludo Philippaerts secured a home win. Nicola Philippaerts continued the winning streak for the family charming the homecrowd in the CSI4* 1.50m class. The Belgian showjumper set a record time aboard his  Klaartje Z.

In the 1.50m main class the reigning Belgian Champion, Nicola Philippaerts set the fastest time aboard his daughter of Kannan. Last week the pair already secured a Grand Prix-qualification in Falsterbo. "It's really nice to win on this amazing new competition? It's great to start at this new competition that is top notch."

"Klaartje Z is a natural fast horse and she proved her top condition again today. She jumps amazing on the fantastic grass arena. This gives me confidence for the next days." Philippaerts says. "The idea is to compete her again in tomorrow's big class. In the Grand Prix I will take the start with Luna van 't Ruytershof."

On stage Philippaerts was followed by compatriot, Constant van Paesschen and his 10-year-old SF-mare, Diaz du Thot (Ready Boy des Forets 'Hn'). Roger-Yves Bost (FRA) completed the stage with his French bred mare,  Ballerine du Vilpion (Baloubet du Rouet).

The pair was followed by former Belgian Champion, Dirk Demeersman and his sBs-mare, G'Majo van de Caloo Meerschen (Ugano Site), while Niklaus Rutschi (SUI) completed the top five aboard Oxana vd Bisschop (Air Jordan Alpha Z).
