Charlotte Bettendorf and Babacool kept their 'cool' in the Grand Prix of the Sunshine Tour

This week's Sunshine Tour is over! The week in Vejer de La Frontera, Spain, ended with the Grand Prix. In the course over 1.45m high obstacles many riders struggled to keep it clear, which led to a jump-off with only seventeen combinations out of the over seventy starters.

The 1.45m class had over seventy combinations looking to take their chances in the Grand Prix. But for only nineteen of them there was a place in the jump-off. Two riders decided not to participate so they were left with seventeen chasing the victory.

The top five all finished very close together. Charlotte Bettendorf set the winning time at 38.77. The Luxembourger took home the victory on Babacool (by Tlaloc M). With 39.08, Emanuele Camilli was good for second place with Chaccrouet by Chacco-Blue). Jana Wargers followed on the bronze and finished with Nevado de Toluca (by Toulouse) in 39.17. Cyril Cools made himself noticed all week and closed his passage in the top five. On Cloe GP Z (by Corrdino) he finished fifth in this main class and also took home ranking points. With eight hundredths difference Kendra Claricia Brinkop stayed ahead of Cools and finished fourth with Olympke van 't Merelsnest (by Vigo d'Arsouilles).

Sanne Thijssen had saddled Cliarma 6 (by Clarimo) for this class. Where many riders didn't manage to stay clear in the first round, Thijssen kept their cool and could advance to the jump-off. The duo set a rock-solid time, finishing in 38.54 but a jumping fault kept them from finishing higher than tenth position.
