An unbeatable Mario Stevens secures home win in GP Braunschweig

The weekend in Braunschweig also closed with the Grand Prix. This four-star class over 1.55m had over forty starters but only twelve finalists. Mario Stevens kept the victory in Germany and won in front of his home crowd in the saddle of Starissa (v. Stakkato Gold).

The 1.55m high course was run over two rounds. In the first round already more than half of the combinations had to drop out, only twelve combinations made it to the second round. The win remained in Germany and came in the name of Mario Stevens. Riding  Starissa (by Stakkato Gold) the German rode a careful but fast round and won with a time of 36.53. With more than three seconds difference, he left Johannes Ehning behind. The brother of the perhaps better-known Marcus Ehning was second on Classic Donna (by Mylord Carthago). With five seconds difference, bronze went with Hilary Scott and Oaks Milky Way (by Clearway) to Australia.

The last two double clear combinations were Stefan Engbers with Baju NRW (by Balou du Rouet) and Lars Bak Andersen with Carl-Heinz B. (by Chacco-Blue). They came in at four and five respectively.
