The CSI4* Derby was held in Hamburg this afternoon. As usual, this is a very tough class: of the 32 starting combinations, nine did not reach the finish due to giving up or exclusion. In the end, only two combinations managed a clear first round as well. A jump-off with only two thus had to decide the gold and silver. A large crowd descended on Hamburg and saw that 'their' Marvin Jüngel was the only one to record a double clear round. He relied on the 14-year-old Oldenburg mare Balou's Erbin (by Be Bravo). The duo clocked off in 56.57 seconds, just within the time allowed.
Then again, Caroline Rehoff Pedersen, the other jump-off candidate, finished just outside the time allowed with Calvin 115 (by Castelan 3) which earned one point for time and thus also the silver. Bejamin Wulschner took bronze. He and Bangkok Girl PP (by Balou du Rouet) jumped a very fast basic round but also got one jumping fault. However, their fast time still earned them third place.
Sandra Auffarth (Nupafeed's La Vista) and Stephan Dubsky (C The Stars) finished fourth and fifth.
