Following meetings with the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI), Sport e Salute SpA and the Italian Equestrian Federation (FISE), the Rome CSIO5* Piazza di Siena Organising Committee has decided to cancel the event scheduled for May 2020. This painful, but inevitable, decision was taken after considering both the worldwide Covid-19 emergency and the strict containment measures currently mandated nationally by the Italian government.
The Rome Piazza di Siena CSIO is an event characterised by tradition, culture and history, the essence of which is linked to the presence of the public, interaction with the city of Rome and a sense of hospitality towards people arriving from all over the world. At this time, the protection of people’s health must take priority.
The Rome event – one of the most important in the world’s equestrian calendar - was planned to take place from 28 - 31 May in the historical Villa Borghese setting, and would have been its 88th edition.
The Rome CSIO5* will be held from May 26th to May 30th 2021.
