All teams and riders who already have their Olympic ticket, can participate in 2021

Nicole Hoevertsz of the IOC (International Olympic Committee) has confirmed that all riders and national teams who already qualified for the Olympics, can participate in Tokio next year.

The Olympic Committee decided yesterday to postpone the Olympics of Tokio to 2021. Since then it is unclear how athletes who haven't qualified for the Olympics yet, will be able to still do so. One thing is sure: athletes and teams that already qualified for the Olympics, will keep that qualification for the Games next year.

Hoevertsz said: "We have an agreement that the 57% of athletes who already qualified for the Olympics, will keep their qualification for 2021. It is however not clear yet how athletes, who aren't qualified yet, will still be able to do so. It is still very unclear. Fact is that qualification tournaments will have to get postponed and that this will not be easy".
