Gregory Wathelet stays ahead of Belgian youth in first round of Belgian Championship

In Zangersheide (Lanaken) the first round of the BK was on the programme today. The 47 best riders from our countries came at the start of this class in which they jumped directly against the clock. The victory today was for Gregory Wathelet. He rode Faut-Il des 7 Vallons clear in 65.96 seconds and thus already takes a firm option on the Belgian title. After all, he was almost three (!!) seconds faster than his first pursuer.

That first pursuer was Leonie Peeters. She managed to put a clear round behind her with Tinkoucha Hero Z (by Tinka's Boy) and finished in 68.81 seconds. Olivier Philippaerts completed the provisional podium. He managed to jump a clear round in 69.07 seconds in the saddle of Zayado (by Cayado).

Gilles Thomas (Konak) and Dieter Vermeiren (Kingston Town 111 Z) completed the top five after clear rounds in 69.15 and 69.37 seconds. .
