Mike Kawai takes winning start in London

Today the Longines Global Champions Tour kicked-off in Great-Britain's capital. In the first CSI5* class the fences were set at 1.45m height. It was Japan's Mike Kawai speeding to victory aboard his 12-year-old Holsteiner-mare, Star  (Singulord Jot x Caretino).

The pair was the only to cross the finish faultless in under 26 seconds. Sweden's Evelina Tovek followed in less than half a second. Together with Cortina 212 (Contendro I x Waechter) Tovek advanced on the ex aequo between Andrzej Oplatek aboard Le Cordial (Lyjanero) and John Whitaker with Sharid (Toulon).

The top five was completed by Brazil's Yuri Mansur and his Belgian Warmblood-mare, Ibelle Ask (Verdi).
