Willy Taets, breeder of Hello Sanctos sadly passed away

The equestrian world has unfortunately had to say goodbye to Willy Taets. He was the proud breeder of the legendary gelding Hello Sanctos.

The talented horse Hello Sanctos is a son of Quasimodo van de Molendreef and comes from the breeding of Willy Taets. With Scott Brash the sBs gelding has no less than 20 international victories to his name, including many GCT Grand Prixs. Sanctos was also the first horse to win the Rolex Grand Slam. The Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro was the last championship for the breeding product of Willy Taets.

Willy Taets won in 2015 the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses Rolex Award in 2015 as the best breeder of the year in the showjumping world.

Equnews wishes all family and friends of Willy Taets a lot of strength during this difficult period.
