Earlier, Belgium's Zoe Conter had already jumped to third place in Rome. On Saturday, the rider perfected her performance with her 13-year-old BWP mare, Lazy (breeder: Stephex Stables), claiming the win in the 1.45m morning class!
Conter and the daughter of Hickstead jumped to the morning victory in the CSIO5* 1.45m class on Saturday. In this timed event, the duo finished just under two seconds ahead of Abdullah Humaid Al Muhairi and the 13-year-old Coenig (Cordobes I). Emeric George, winner of the first day, completed the top three.
The Frenchman followed with Gloria Mercoeur (Cornet Obolensky) ahead of Emanuele Gaudiano and his 10-year-old KWPN gelding, Julius.D (Arezzo VDL).
The top five was rounded out by Jörne Sprehe with the 12-year-old Hickstead White (Hickstead).
