Three Horses Win Omega Alpha Healthy Horse Awards at the Colorado Horse Park Summer in the Rockies

This summer, Omega Alpha Pharmaceuticals, a Canadian-based producer of natural equine health supplements, has shown its dedication to equestrian sports by sponsoring a summer of hunter, jumper, dressage, and eventing shows at the Colorado Horse Park in Parker, Colorado. Omega Alpha is presenting the Omega Alpha Healthy Horse Award once a week at the Colorado Horse Park to horses that exhibit outstanding appearance and excellent health. The winners, who demonstrate Omega Alpha’s core values of maintaining good health through proper nutrition and care, have received an embroidered cooler, ribbon, and an array of Omega Alpha health supplements. This June, three horses won the Omega Alpha Healthy Horse Award at the Summer in the Rockies hunter and jumper show series at the Colorado Horse Park. The first recipient of the month was five-year-old HJ Noteworthy, ridden by Holly Shepherd and owned by Loretta Patterson. When HJ Noteworthy won first place in the $25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, the show committee noticed his impressive body condition and selected him as the Omega Alpha Healthy Horse Award winner. Shepherd, who has had the ride on HJ Noteworthy for the past two years, said, “Noteworthy has won the champion title about 10 out of 11 times this year!” While known for his winning ways in the show ring, outside of the ring he is best loved for his sweet disposition. “He loves to be cuddled— you can put your arms around him for hours,” Shepherd sad. “We give him a lot of treats, and now we’ve started him and a couple other horses on the Omega Alpha products we won.” The next Omega Alpha Healthy Horse Award winner this June was Fitz, a nine-year-old Dutch Warmblood leased by Emma Tellor. Becky Warner rode Fitz to first place in the $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby at the Colorado Horse Park when Fitz was pronounced Healthy Horse Award winner. Tellor said, “Fitz is the perfect horse. He will take care of you no matter what and he has a big personality.” For Tellor, winning the Omega Alpha Healthy Horse Award couldn’t have happened at a better time. “I was actually planning to start using the Omega Alpha supplements before he won the award, so now we can use the Omega Alpha products Fitz won as his prize. I especially want to use Omega Alpha to help make his coat shinier.” Ceto II, a nine-year-old KWPN-Warmblood cross, received the third Omega Alpha Healthy Horse Award this month, in the Junior Hunter division. Ceto II is trained by Julie Luzicka and ridden by Hannah Wiggins. Luzicka and Wiggins were proud to be recognized for Ceto’s health, as they work hard to keep him fit with their routine of flatwork, jumping, trail rides, and long turnouts. Since journeying from their home in Albuquerque, New Mexico to the Colorado Horse Park, Ceto II has been very successful in competition this summer. “We truly appreciate Omega Alpha and the Colorado Horse Park for honoring us with this award,” said Luzicka. Omega Alpha was happy to reward these three horses for exhibiting such excellent health at the Colorado Horse Park this June. The company is also hosting its popular Omega Alpha Best Barn Manager of the Season contest this summer at the Colorado Horse Park. This is the first time that the contest has been held in Colorado. Nominations for outstanding barn managers can be made throughout the summer at one of two ballot boxes conveniently located in the show office or at the on-site Colorado Horse Park Feed & Supply Store, where Omega Alpha products are available for purchase. The winner of the Best Barn Manager of the Season contest will receive a beautiful bit box, his or her choice of Omega Alpha products, and a dinner out for two.
