Jumpings in Germany, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, ... this weekend.
Now that the weekend is over, so is the wait to know who won the Grand Prix.
Vilamoura, Portugal - CSI3*
That a French rider would win the Grand Prix was certain. Only two combinations could qualify for the Grand Prix, and they were both Frech. Titouan Schumacher aboard Atome Z (by Amadeus Z) won against Mathieu Billot. Billot had Quel Filou 13 (by Quidaum’s Rubin) in the competition ring.
British Guy Williams and Rouge de Ravel (by Ultimo van ter Moud) follow in third place. They stay in front of compatriot Laura Renwick and Bintang II (by Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve).
Donald Whitaker, also for the UK, with Atevla (by Rissoa d’AG) close the top five.
Oliva, Spain - CSI3*
Julien Epaillard (pictured) and Jalanta P (by Catalano) finish in 28.15. First runner-up is Alberto Zorzi and Vaubain du Trio (by Nervoso). With a time of 29.19, they are just over a second slower. With a much smaller difference, third place goes to Italian compatriot Lorenzo de Luca. He finishes in 29.85 aboard Nuance Bleue VDL Z (by Nabab de Reve).
The top three were also the only three combinations to keep the clock under 30 seconds in the jump-off. Marlon Modolo Zanotelli and Sweet Tricia (by Berlin) come in fourth with a time of 30.15. Fifth place goes to Marie Demonte and Vega de La Roche (by Diamant de Semilly).
Villeneuve, France - CSI2*
With only five combinations and four of them French, a french win was a very big possibility in Villeneuve-Loubet. Karen Verdez and Anakena Landifer (v. Quite Easy) won the course after a jump-off. The second combination in the jump-off was Sebastien Planchat and Crystel Clear (by Calido I).
Third place goes to Romanian rider Andrea Herck and Idarquithago (by Darco).
Offenburg, Germany - CSI2* (LR)
Thirteen combinations qualified them for the jump-off. It was Swiss jumping rider Niklaus Rutschi and Quinao de Chandor Z who rode the fastest clear round and therefor won the class. With the stallion by Qlassic Bois Margot, he finishes in 36.57.
Compatriot Annina Züger and PB Douglass Chavannais (by Cicero Z) follow in second place with a time of 37.12. French rider Jacques Helmlinger and Tonic des Mets (by Ogrion des Champs) close top three with a time of 37.17.
Pia Reich and PB Chaconie (by Chacco-Blue) come in fourth place. Belgian rider Annelies Vorsselmans and Wilandro (by Unistar) finish in 37.73, closing the top five.
Valencia, Spain - CSI2* (LR)
Guillauma Batillat takes home the gold medal to France with Baby Love (by Lupicor). He takes home the biggest amount of LR-points and stays in front of his two Spanish runner-ups. First runner-up Armanto Trapote and Tinkerbell (by Chacco-Blue) did make the jump-off very exciting though. With only a 0.05-second difference to Batillat, their time of 40.33 makes them second. Eduardo Alvarez Aznar and Mogambo (by Diamant de Semilly) finish in 40.55 and complete the top three.
Swedish rider Annika Axelsson and W Diva Ros MFS (by Wallenberg) finish in 41.61 and that makes them come in fourth place. She stays in front of Bunoit Moeskops and Kiarado (by Diarado), who jump a clear round in 42.42.
Opglabbeek, Belgium - CSI2*
Rupert Carl Winkelmann and Deep Blue Bridges S (by VDL Zirocco Blue) win the jump-off. He stays in front of Egypt rider Abdel Saïd and Freestyle (by Caretino 2). Przemyslaw Konopacki and Duke (by Phin Phin) complete the top three.
Andreas Kreuzer and Cascorrado (by Casall) rank fourth, Kevin Staut and Bon Jovi In Live (by l’Arc de Triomphe) are the first in the jump-off to drop a fence and therefore close the top five.
Valencia, Spain - CSI1*
The win in this class goes to Joffrey Buard and Kira M et M (by Thunder van de Zuuthoeve). He beats Carolina Aresu Garcia Obregond and Cashmire (by Flipper d’Elle) to it, whom at their turn beat Nicola Pohl, aboard Carerras HD.
