The best pair were Olympic champion Dorothee Schneider (GER) and the eleven-year-old Westphalian gelding Dayman. A flawless performance resulted in a score of 73.391%, securing victory in the CDI4* Grand Prix presented by Iris Porsche Hotel & Restaurant with a comfortable lead of two percent. For Dayman, a son of Daily Deal, this was the highest score in his international tournament career. For the riding master, the winning position in Salzburg is nothing new; she already dominated the 5-star World Cup Tour in 2016 and 2017, riding Showtime FRH and Sammy Davis Jr. to victory in both the Grand Prix and the Freestyle.
"I always enjoy coming to Salzburg; it's very familiar and welcoming, and the conditions for horses and riders are top-notch. Dayman has only been on such a big stage for a short time, and I am really proud of how well he has handled it," said Dorothee Schneider, excited about her young star.
In second place was the Spaniard Juan Rodriguez Carvajal (ESP) with 71.391%. The rider from Dressurstall Meggle presented the impressive stallion Meggle's Boston and will attack again in the Grand Prix Special on Saturday. As the third-best pair, Franz Trischberger (GER) and DSP James Bond scored 71%.
The field of seven Austrians was led by Vice National Champion Isabella Willibald (ST), finishing sixth. For the harmonious round on her colorful chestnut gelding Richterhof's Fürst Farbenfroh, she received an average of 68.805% from the five international judges. Another Austrian rider, Katharina Haas (OÖ), was pleased with a placement. In the saddle of her successful mare Let it Be NRW, she rode to 68.543% and seventh place.
