Germany wins CSIO5* Nations Cup of Sopot

In Sopot, the highlight of an international weekend had just been scheduled: the Nations Cup of the CSI5* competition. It remained a thriller until the end. Both the Belgian and the German team had zero penalty points after the two rounds when the last rider had to go.

Jos Verlooy could with his Belgian champion Varoune (by Verdi TN) write two clear rounds behind his name. Nicola Philippaerts and Katanga vh Dingeshof (by Cardento 933) also managed that. Pieter Devos with Claire Z (by Clearway) had two times one jumping fault behind his name. The round of Niels Bruynseels and Delux van T&L (by Toulon) would thus be decisive. Unfortunately Bruynseels did not manage to keep the zero. He would finish with two penalty points which brought the total of the Belgians to four.

The victory went to the Germans; the team consisting of Christian Kukuk (Mumbaià, Maurice Tebbel (Don Diarado), Marcus Ehning (Funky Fred) and Andre Thieme (DSP Chakaria) were able to keep the zero over the line.

The Irish finished in third place.
