"Heartbreaker was a real Ferrari"

Yesterday it became known that the top stallion Heartbreaker had passed away at the age of 32. Several of his former riders shared their memories with the legend. So did Johan Lenssens, who had the horse under the saddle at the age of 4.

"I remember him very well," Lenssens tells our editors. "He was really an abnormal horse, in the good sense of the word. He showed enormous quality on the jump, had a lot of blood (maybe even a little too much) and you could already feel at that time that he was a very special horse. A real 'Ferrari' so to speak: a lot of power and full of quality".

Grant Wilson, who also had the horse under saddle, also shared a photo on his social media.
