Kent Farrington is still one of the best riders in the world. The former number one of the world is still in the top ten of the FEI ranking. We asked him about his way of working and whether he is superstitious: "Superstitious I wouldn't say," he starts. "But I do still polish my own boots. It's a habit from when I was a kid. So I'll never be able to put it on someone else if I come to the start with dirty boots," he laughs.
"I also generally like it when my equipment is clean. That doesn't only apply to my boots but also to my saddle, bridles, ... Fortunately I have a team that helps me out. For the rest I can give as tip that you always have to adapt your way of riding to your horse. Each horse has its own character and therefore requires a different way of riding. I even go the extra mile by having an adapted saddle made for each horse. That way I know that this saddle fits my horse perfectly and I don't have to worry about it anymore", he concludes.
