Patrik Kittel's championship horse, Deja (Silvano), is no more. The breeder and owner of the 18-year-old SWB mare (Marie Haward) reported this to the newspaper Ridsport yesterday. Kittel and Deja represented Sweden at the 2015 European Championships, the 2016 Olympics, and the 2018 World Cup final in Falsterbo. After an injury, the mare never returned to the sport, and much to Haward's chagrin she is gone. now asleep.
The expressive mare started her last international competition in 2018 at the FEI Nations Cup in Falsterbo, where she won both the Grand Prix and the Freestyle with Patrik Kittel. Kittel and Deja had a successful career in international sports together. In 2013 the duo made their debut in the international Small Tour and at the end of that year they won their debut in the international Grand Prix in Mechelen. During their time together, they recorded a whopping 21 victories in the international Grand Prix.
Deja injured himself in the pasture in 2018, and has not appeared in the show ring since. The mare has been used for breeding since 2019 via embryo transfer, but never fully recovered from her injury.
