Philipp Weishaupt escapes serious injury after freaky fall in Aachen

Germany's Philipp Weishaupt had quite the adventure during yesterdays RWE Prize in Aachen. After a freaky incident he fell of his horse.

When he approached jump no 5 he felt how the bit of his mare Che Fantastica snapped. He could not pull the mare up in time before the jump. Che Fantastica panicked and took off, leaving it up to here rider to fend for himself. Weishaupt took the wise way out and decided to jump off his mare while she was at full speed. He came off lucky with only a light injury at his tailbone. The mare is doing fine as well after her adventure.

Weishaupt won't be able to compete in the Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen tomorrow.

Today the rider celebrates his 34th birthday.
