In Hamburg the CSI5* action kicked-off with a home-win, thanks to REne Dittmer. The German showjumper guided his 11-year-old Corsica to the win in the 1.45m openingclass.
Hamburg guarantees a few days of top-level sports. Dittmer and his 11-year-old daughter of Connor stayed just over one second ahead of Tim Rieskamp-Goedeking with the 10-year-old Zinano G (Zinedine). Irish show jumper Trevor Breen guided KWPN horse Highland President (Clinton) flawlessly to third place.
Only these top three completed the second phase without faults.
The duo was followed by Sandra Auffarth, who incurred one time fault in the second phase with Comcador OLD (Comme Il Faut). Fellow countrywoman Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmerman also had one time fault with Cellagon Cascais (Colestus), earning her the fifth place.
