In Hamburg the Global Champions League was just held, a 5* team competition over a height of 1m55, held over two rounds. In this leg the victory went to Valkenswaard United thanks to Marcus Ehning and John Whitaker. Harry Charles was on top of the individual ranking.
It was a very exciting round where the top three always had a total score of four penalty points. Therefore we had to look at the time and that was the decisive factor for Valkenswaard United. Marcus Ehning jumped a clear first round with Stargold (by Stakkato Gold), but in the second round they had a fault. His team mate John Whitaker went clear in both rounds with Equine America Unick du Francport (by Zandor) Their total time over the two rounds was 153.67 seconds and that was the fastest time. That's how team Valkenswaard United won this GCL-leg.
Today Jack Whitaker and Mark Mcauley came to the start for Madrid in Motion. Jack was in the saddle of Equine America Valmy de la Lande (by Mylord Carthago) and together they had a two clear rounds. Mcauley and Cap West (by Chacco Blue) got a fault in the first round but stayed nicely clear in the second. They were slightly slower and with a total time of 157 seconds, the riders of Madrid in Motion took second place.
The Cannes Stars jumped to third place. Johnny Pals and Charley (by Calido) had a mistake in the first round, but made up for it in the second. His teammate Jens Baackmann with Nomanee (by Non Stop) left all the fences up securing two clear rounds for the team. The team was only seven (!) hundredths of a second slower than the runner-up and so the Cannes Stars finished in third place.
Jodie Hall Mcateer (Kimosa van het Kritahof) and Harry Charles (Casquo Blue) jumped into fourth place for New York Empire. The Prague Lions finished in fifth place thanks to Anna Kellnerova (Catch Me If You Can Old), Niels Bruynseels (Cristel) and Pieter Devos (MoM's Isaura).
GCL - individual ranking + qualification for the LGCT Grand Prix
The first round of the Global Champions League also served as a qualifier for the GP, which will be held soon. Harry Charles won the class with Casquo Blue (by Chacco Blue) in a time of 74.50 seconds.
Jordy van Massenhove was only a little slower with Gaga E D'Augustijn (by Bustique). They ended in second place in a time of 76,10 seconds. But the Belgian success did not stop there. Pieter Devos was third, this time with MoM's Coleraine des Bergeries (by Canturo). Jack Whitaker rode Equine America de la Lande (by Mylord Carthago) to fourth place. The fifth place was again for Belgium thanks to Niels Bruynseels and Cristel (by Diamant de Semilly).
