Trigon Auctions Group 1 - 56.000€ for Benanda VDL Z

Last night Trigon Auctions closed their last Group 1 collection. A strong group of 14 foals were presented, including the full brother of 5* Grand Prix stallion Vannan and a filly by Diamant de Semilly out of 5* Grand Prix mare Valencia.

The top seller turned out to be Benanda VDL Z, by Bacardi VDL out of the 5* GP mare Banda de Hus. An American buyer paid 56.000€ for the prospect. The 2nd highest price was paid for Palermo, the filly out of Valencia, at 29.000€The auction had a turnover of 200.500€, an average of 15.423€ and 13 of 14 foals sold.

13 breeders and buyers will enter the Breeders and Buyers Premium with an annual purse of 20.000€ for the best performing horses out of the Trigon Foal Auction.Janko van de Lageweg of VDL Stud: “We’re happy with the result of this auction, the average is strong yet realistic. The top seller is an amazing filly and we’re all glad for the buyer who tried very hard in our first Group 1 auction to buy the Zirocco Blue colt. Now she held on to this great filly and it’ll find a great home!

It’s life of auctions, it happens but we want to be transparent about it. Now it’s time to get ready for our last Group 2 collection to bring the foal season to an end.On Thursday 10 september, Trigon Auctions will launch the last Group 2 collection, the overall last foal collection of the season, including 4 mares, all finalists at the Dutch Championships for 3 year olds.
