Victor Bettendorf winner of the 25.000€ class Ascor Trophy

It seemed that there was no rival for the rider Ainhoa Manero who has remained in the lead for most of the competition but, shortly after finishing the last class of the day, Ascor Trophy, the Luxembourg rider Victor Bettendorf snatched the leadership to the Spanish rider with a brilliant and very fast ride. By only 19 hundredths of a second Victor and Atomic de la Roque relegated Ainhoa Manero and her magnificent Ryanair de Riverland to second place in the standings.

The rider from Luxembourg, who has just won last weekend in an international in Royan, France, rode this time an 11 year old mare, Atomic de la Roque (Kannan x Adelfos), who until last September was ridden by French veteran Michel Hecart. The class, which counts for the Longines FEI Ranking and has a prize money of 25,000 Euros, was held under the two-phase barometer and the course was designed by the course manager Javier Trénor. Of the 54 participating riders, eleven finished the course with double zero in the two phases of the class, but only these two riders managed to lower the time of 34 seconds.

In 32.54 seconds Ainhoa Manero and Ryanair de Riverland (Quick Star x Papillon Rouge), a 16 year old with a lot of experience who last Sunday took third place in the Gran Premio Maeza, the main event of the weekend. Both, rider and horse, are demonstrating these days their good form and fantastic relationship. The third place went to the Spanish rider based in Belgium, Julio Arias, who has just joined the list of participants of Maeza in style. It is the first podium of this pair in an international competition, the 9 year old French Silla son of the stallion Diamant de Semilly and Julio have only been competing together for a year.
