The first qualification for the CSI4* 1.45m German Jumping Derby in Hamburg was completed on Wednesday. At the very last moment, it was Shane Breen (IRL) who, riding the BWP horse Ipswich van de Wolfsakker (now Z7 Ipswich), snatched the first victory.
With the 16-year-old son of Carembar de Muze from the breeding of Van der Kloet - Jooken, Breen was in a class of his own in this qualification. The duo completed flawlessly in a time of 72.12s, which turned out to be six (!) seconds faster than Karl-Heinz Markus (GER) who was leading at the time with the 9-year-old Fiona (Quabri de L'Isle). In front of their home crowd, Elisa Marlene von Hacht (GER) jumped to third place aboard the Levistano offspring Lancoon.
The fourth place was taken by Frenchman Emeric George and the Vagabond de La Pomme daughter Dune du Ru. Fifth was Stephan Dubsky (IRL) with C The Stars (Contendro I).
