Simon Delestre and Olga van de Kruishoeve speed to victory in thrilling CSI5*-W 1.55m World Cup Qualifier of Verona

Thirteen horse and rider combinations made it into an exciting but also challenging jump-off of the CSI5*-W 1.55m Qualifier for the Longines World Cup in Verona. Simon Delestre took the victory home aboard of Olga van de Kruishoeve.

After about half of the competitors had completed their rounds, Italian rider Francesco Turturiello led the standings with the BWP mare Made In't Ruytershof (Norton d'Eole). They were the only ones to clear the obstacles without knocking down any rails, finishing with a time of 41.23 seconds. Marcus Ehning successfully navigated Coolio 42 (Casalito) without faults as the second rider, but shortly thereafter, Peder Fredricson surpassed him. The Swedish rider needed over a second and a half less with Vroom de La Pomme Z (Vigo d'Arsouilles) to complete a faultless round.

It didn't take long for Simon Delestre to shave off nearly two seconds from Fredricson's time aboard Olga Van de Kruishoeve (El Torreo de Muze). Finally, Daniel Deusser took his turn, coming close to Delestre's time with Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z (Otangelo) but ultimately settling for the silver.
