In Verona, the day just ended with the main event: a 1m55 class with winning round. The riders were presented with a tough basic course but fourteen of them managed to jump a clear round. Unfortunately, only the top 12 riders were allowed to compete in the second round which was bad news for Jur Vrieling (Griffin van de Heffinck) and Jennifer Hochstadter (Golden Lady). Their slower time meant they unfortunately fell out of the boat. In the winning round, Julien Epaillard once again showed why he is one of the fastest riders in the world. Riding Cancun Torel Z (by Cosinhus), he managed to take the win by jumping a clear round in 36.78 seconds.
Lorenzo de Luca, already in extremely good form this week, finished in second place. Saddled 13-year-old F One USA (by Toulon), he recorded a clear round behind his name in 37.03 seconds. Ben Maher and Enjeu de Grisien (by Toulon) completed the top three. The 9-year-old gelding did not come close to the wood and stopped the chrono after 37.55 seconds.
Giulia Martinengo Marquet (Delta Del'Isle) and Jeanne Sadran (Dexter de Kerglenn) followed in fourth and fifth place.
