Julien Epaillard and Donatello d'Auge keep the victory on home soil in Grand Prix Audi at Bordeaux

A thrilling CSI5*-W 1.60m Grand Prix class at Jumping International de Bordeaux had a French victory. Julien Epaillard and Donatello D'Auge were unbeatable.

Only four combinations out of nearly 30 starters in the Grand Prix of Bordeaux managed to complete the challenging 1.60m high course without faults. Julien Epaillard (FRA), Denis Lynch (IRL), Pieter Devos (BEL), and Jessica Burke (IRL) were the ones who advanced to the jump-off. Nicola Philippaerts (BEL) had a fast time but a jumping fault with H&M Luna van 't Ruytershof Z (Levisto Z) kept them out of the jump-off, securing the fifth position.

First to go in the jump-off was Epaillard. The Frenchman guided Donatello d'Auge, a descendant of Jarnac, faultlessly through the course, setting the time to beat at 38.70s. Next up was Denis Lynch with the 15-year-old BWP gelding Brooklyn Heights, a son of Nabab de Reve. They also navigated the course flawlessly and stopped the clock at 40.15s.

Devos and Jarina J (Cicero Z Van Paemel) couldn't replicate their good form from the first round in the jump-off and finished in fourth place. Jessica Burke completed a faultless round with Nikey HH, an 11-year-old BWP mare by Herald van 't Ruytershof, securing the fourth position ahead of Devos.
