Swedish and British teams for Jumping European Championships announced

Milan, Italy, is the host city for the European Championships where Sweden and Great Britain, among others, will compete for another title. From Aug. 30 to Sept. 3, they will compete for the top spot and to build a new routine for Paris 2024.

After Sweden's Olympic gold and World Cup gold, it is now the year of the European Championships. Five Swedish duos have been selected for the European Championships:

Henrik von Eckermann - Iliana

Rolf-Göran Bengtsson - Zuccero

Jens Fredricson - Markan Cosmopolit

Petronella Andersson - Castres van de Begijnakker Z

Wilma Hellström - Cicci BJN


"It's a very strong team that has the potential to go far," says national coach Henrik Ankarcrona.


British selections

The British team has confirmed the 10 combinations of horses and riders. For them, the following riders and horses will travel to Italy: 

Harry Charles - Aralyn Blue and Stall Zet's Casquo Blue 

Tim Gredley - Medoc de Toxandria

Samuel Hutton - Oak Grove's Laith 

Ben Maher - Dallas Vegas Batilly and Faltic HB and Ginger-Blue 

Jessica Mendoza - Play 

Donald Whitaker - Di Caprio 

Joe Whitaker - Hulahupe JR
