Our colleagues from Equnews NL and Belgium reported the sale of the Dutch Gold medal winning horse, Uzzo. Dutch dressage rider Patrcik van der Meer has to continue his career without his top horse Uzzo. The 14 year old KWPN gelding by Lancet x Indoctro has been sold via Carolyn Kooijman (President Dressage Stables) to an unknown young rider. Together with Patrick Van der Meer Uzzo won the gold team medal at the Europea Championships in Aachen, last month. "Lately we noticed a lot of interest from foreigners," states van der Meer. "Being separated from my star will never be easy. But we have to be realistic. We had a chance for the Olympics in Rio 2016. On the other hand it comforts me that Uzzo will be happy and is in good hands." finishes the Dutch rider. It is not yet revealed who the new rider will be. However it is confirmed Uzzo will remain in Dutch hands. New rider will be a Young Rider, representing the Netherlands. "Uzzo will remain in my stables for a while. I will train the new combination. It is in fact important that both horse and rider feel comfortable with the new situation."
