Andres Vereecke, who achieved numerous successes with his faithful partner “In The Mood,” has announced his horse's athletic retirement via social media.
In The Mood has built an impressive record over the years. Together with Andres, he formed a strong team. “In the Mood, Mood, moody, smoothsky!” wrote Andres in his message. “After an incredible career, it is time to enjoy a well-deserved retirement. Mood has given us so much - heart, strength, and an unshakable spirit.”
As a 7-year-old, the daughter of Winningmood made her international debut under Quentin Lambotte, who trained her to two-star level in four years to a height of 1.45m. In the summer of 2020, Andres Vereecke took over the reins and never relinquished them. The pair rode successfully at three-star level, where they were able to record numerous podium finishes.
This fall the pair headed to Oliva, where under Spanish sun they were able to capture four more podium places, including a win.
The bond between Andres and Mood went beyond sporting achievements. The horse was praised not only for his physical abilities, but also for his character and perseverance. According to Andres, Mood was more than an athlete; he was a true partner, a friend, and a source of inspiration. “Thank you, Mood, for every pass, every jump, and every magical moment. You will always be our champion,” Andres concluded his message.
Thank you for the beautiful sport, In The Mood!
