The 2013 edition of the “Vincenzo Muccioli Challenge” international show jumping event, originally programmed from 19 to 21 July at Coriano near Rimini, has been cancelled. Behind the decision taken by the San Patrignano Community lies the consideration that, to date, the confirmed financial contributions from sponsors are not sufficient to cover the costs involved in the organization of the event. This makes it therefore impossible to achieve the priority objective underlying the origins of the show in 1996, namely that of sustaining the social and career training projects that are part of the rehabilitation programmes of the community’s over 1300 residents.
San Patrignano hopes once again in 2014 to be able to host the “Vincenzo Muccioli Challenge”, an event that has significantly helped to enhance the image of Italian equestrianism in the world and that for three times has been voted the world’s best horse-jumping event by the International Jumping Riders Club and Horse International, the Dutch magazine with a global reputation in the equestrian sector.
San Patrignano thanks all those who have made the “Vincenzo Muccioli Challenge” possible over the years: the riders, the public, journalists, stewards and other officials, assistants and the companies that have supported the event, including in particular Rolex, together with Show Director Eleonora Ottaviani, for her precious contribution towards the event and to the community.
