West Palms Events is proud to announce that the Central California Classic, held at Paso Robles Horse Park on June 1 - 5, 2016, will host the World Champion Hunter Rider (WCHR) program, one of only eight WCHR events to be held in the 2016 show season in the Southwest region. This exciting program showcases the nation's top hunters and hunter riders, as they compete in WCHR events held nationally and regionally on their way to earning a spot in the WCHR Finals, held at the Capital Challenge Horse Show in Upper Marlboro, MD. USHJA created this program in 1992 to pay tribute to hunter riders and provide them with an exciting series of events in which they could earn year-end recognition. The USHJA World Championship Hunter Rider Program now includes year-end awards in a number of categories, including Professionals, Developing Professionals, Amateur Owners, Adult Amateurs, Juniors, Children and Ponies. Participants must be WCHR Program members, and they can qualify throughout the season by earning points at Member Events held nationwide. Every year the top ten national and top six regional riders from each category compete in the WCHR Finals held at the Capital Challenge Horse Show. Dale Harvey of West Palms Events commented, "I am very honored that the Central California Classic was chosen as one of this year's Southwest WCHR venues. This prestigious program gives hunter riders in many divisions a chance to accumulate points and earn their way toward a place in the WCHR finals. I am proud to be a part of the WCHR program and excited to present our WCHR qualifying classes at Paso Robles this June."
