Abdel Saïd proves his worth in Knokke's CSI3* Grand Prix

The CSI3* Porsche Grand Prix at the Knokke Hippique Summer Circuit proved to be a difficult course. In the 1.55m Basic round only nine combinations produced a clear round, from which only one Belgium to defend the home honour. Being fourth but last in the ring, Belgian show jumper, Niels Bruynseels set an amazing round aboard the 10-year-old Cas de Liberte (by Cracky Z). The pair finished in 47.57 seconds, taking the lead. However second but last to start in the jump-off, Egypt's Abdel Saïd, had no problem with Bruynseels' time. Together with the 9-year-old KWPN-mare California (by L'Esprit), Saïd took over the lead after fence n° 5, eventually crossing the finish in 46.00 seconds. Last in the ring, Patrice Delaveau and the Quick Star-son Orient Express HDC did their bust but were just not fast enough. Finishing with a difference of 0.02 seconds, The pair eventually finished second and where followed by Niels Bruynseels. The top five was completed by USA's Catherine Tyree (Enjoy Louis) and Marc Bettinger (Balouzino) in fourth and fifth place.
