Al Bin Khalid Al Thani and Carolina 31 shows off in Al Rayyan's Grand Prix

In Qatar, Al Rayyan's Grand Prix was set at a height of 1.60m. The combinations were offered a course in three rounds, eventually only two pairs qualified for the ultimate Jump-Off. Sheikh Ali Bin Khalid Al Thani and the 11-year-old Carolina 31 (by Colman) was the only faultless combination. After a finish in 41.90 seconds Al Thani claimed the over 50,000 Euro win.   Abdullah Waleed Alsharbatly jumped in the spotlights earlier this week. In the Grand Prix he placed as runner-up aboard Daniel Deusser's former ride, Domingo (by Thunder vd Zuuthoeve). Alsharbatly took the necessary risks resulting in four points in 39.63 seconds. Turky's Derin Demirsoy impressed with a third place. Aboard Harry K (by Equest Carnute) Demirsoy collected four points in the first two rounds in a time of 65.85 seconds. The top five was completed by Janika Sprunger and Edwina tops Alexander, both with KWPN-bred horses. Sprunger and Aris CMS (by BMC Nassau) placed fourth, while Tops and Abdel Said's former ride, California finished in fifth.   In the 1.55m class Italy's Emanuele Gaudiano jumped yet again to victory. Together with Caspar 232 (by Berlin), Gaudiano stopped the clock in 76.37 seconds and was followed by Pilar Lucrecia Cordon and Armani des Maraichers (by Kashmir van Schuttershof). Abdullah Waleed Alsharbatly and Woulon L (by Toulon) completed the stage.
