Alexandra Moorhouse Wins Horseware Bronze League Qualifier at Port Royal Equestrian Centre

PR : British Show jumping Sixteen year-old Alexandra Moorhouse from Stockton-On-Tees, Cleveland beat thirty-nine other hopefuls on Sunday to take the top spot in the Horseware Bronze League Qualifier at Port Royal Equestrian Centre in Holme On Spalding Moor, Yorkshire. Each and every rider was focused on securing one of the three sought after qualification spots available for the Horseware Bronze League Semi Finals, which will run in August, and this ensured that a competitive class unfolded. Twenty-seven combinations produced the clear round needed for a place in the jump off and with ten going on to deliver a double clear, all eyes were trained on the clock as this was to determine the allocation of the qualification places. Alexandra produced the fastest double clear of the qualifier on board Zikro I, a 12 year-old brown gelding owned by Leslie Moorhouse. Alexandra and Zikro I showed great pace and precision to cross through the finish in 31.71 seconds with all of the fences still standing. Christina Kenyon from Poulton-Le-Fylde, Lancashire took the second qualification place on My Other Million, a 17 year-old bay gelding owned by Flight View Livery & Stud. This combination secured their double clear in 33.81 seconds. Third place was taken by Rachael Evison from Pontefract, North Yorkshire and she took her place in the top three on her own 10 year-old grey mare, Scylla D Ouilly.
