Athletes around the world prepare for World Cup finals

Sergio Alvarez MoyaWith a sight on the Rolex FEI World Cup Finals the list of riders is starting to come together, time to make a small overview of the leagues champions. The 16 qualifying leagues have crowned their winners and here is an overview of the different smaller and bigger league results as reported on the website of the FEI. The Western European League is one of the bigger leagues with the Spanish rider Sergio Alvarez Moya as a winner, followed by Christian Ahlmann, while Kevin Staut ended third. The Central European League is divided in a Northern and Southern part. In the Northern part it is Kristaps Neretnieks who took the leading position with 102 points. Anna Gromzina and Gunnar Klettenberg followed in a second and third position. Giving a top three with Latvia, Russia and Estonia. The Southern league was dominated by the Turkish Omer Karaevli after gathering 84 points. The Bulgarian Rossen Raitchev took the runner-up position before Laszlo Toth. In the Wester American League it was the Egyptian Nayel Nassar who emerged as a winner with 94 points. Richard Fellers took the runner-up position while Ashlee Bond ended third. The three-leg South America North League was won by Santiago Medina. The 30-year-old Colombian finished ahead of Venezuela's Andres Rodriques and Noel Vanososte. In the South American League there were six competitions that attracted 72 competitors. In the end it was the 29-year-old Daniel Chaves Anicet who was the winner, ending ahead of Cesar Almeida and Carlos Milthaler in second and third posittion. Traveling across the globe to have a closer look to the South-East Asion series, a total of 11 competitors competed the past couple of months. The 24-year-old Ferry Wanyu Hadiyanto emerged as a winner of Sweden's Helen Gabrielsson. The stage was completed by Malaysia's Gabil Ambak Dato Mahammad. In the central Asian League it was Gairat Nazarov from Uzbekistan who won the close-fought affair with Kazzachstan's Alexander Tishkov. Vladimir Shmelyov closed into third place. SergioAbabSportfotThe separate Chinese League attracted 24 athletes and was won by the 25-year-old Raene Leung. Ciren Bianba claimed the runner-up position, ending ahead of Hong Kong's Patrick Lam. A cross the water, in Japan, it was Koki Saito who won with a 10-point advantage over Daisuke Mizuyama and Koji Yamada in second and third position. The riders from Georgia and Azerbaijan competed in the six-leg Caucasion League won by Shalva Gachechiladze. While it was a necj-and-neck in the race to the finish of the South African League in which both Jodi Pieters and Shaun Neill completed with 63 points. Pieters was declared champion however when they were separated on the basis of placings following the final leg in Cape Town. Jeanne Engela finished third. In the Australian League it was Alison Rowland who reigned. Evie Buller and Billy Raymont, while it was Mauice Beatson who won the New Zealand League.
